All Saints', Austin Hires New Organist/Choirmaster

The Rev Michael K. Adams, Rector of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas, is proud to announce Dr. David Eaton as the new Organist-Choirmaster effective September 1, 2012.  Dr. Eaton's first official Sunday will be September 2nd.

 

As a church musician for more than three decades, Eaton has held appointments in Wisconsin, Iowa, South Carolina, Minnesota, Texas, New York, and Boston. Eaton served as Director of Music at The Church of St. John the Evangelist on Beacon Hill in Boston, and as Director of Music at historic St. Helena’s Episcopal Church (founded 1712) in Beaufort, South Carolina. He previously served as Director of Music & Organist, Choirmaster at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas from 2004 to 2012.  Dr. Eaton also holds the Bess Hieronymus Fellowship in Organ at the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

 

Dr. David Danielson Eaton’s performance, church music and teaching career have taken him throughout the United States, Europe, and the Bahamas. As an artist who performs repertoire from all periods, Eaton has been enthusiastically received as performer, teacher, scholar, and church musician.  His appearances at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, The Piccolo Spoleto Music Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, The Concordia Organ Series at Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, The Old West Organ Society Summer Evening Concerts at Old West Church in Boston, and St. Thomas Church in New York City have all been met with great enthusiasm.  In San Antonio, Dr. Eaton has made appearances with The Texas Bach Choir and Collegium, The San Antonio Symphony, The San Antonio Opera Orchestra, and The Laredo Philharmonic.
