Annual Harvest Fest at Good Shepherd Friendswood

The Annual Harvest Fest will be held Saturday, October 20, on the grounds of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.  The church is located at 1207 W. Winding Way, Friendswood. Activities begin at 11:00 a.m. and run through the day until 4:00 p.m.

Well-known in the Friendswood community as a family-fun festival, Harvest Fest is an annual community-oriented Christian fundraising event held each fall. Admission is free with tickets available for purchase for the various activities. Proceeds from the event benefit the church programs, and the support of the new Youth Minister’s three-year program.

“This event is for the entire Friendswood community. It will be for children, youth, teens, adults and seniors “says Nancy Bradley, chair.  The event will occupy the entire campus of Good Shepherd with food and beverage available from food trucks offering a range of food delights from American to Cajun to desserts.  There will be cookies and coffee at the Café. There will be a Silent Auction of outstanding items from wines to home décor to trips and experiences. The auction will be live on-line as well as live at the event. Activities include a Cool Vehicle Display and a Selfie Booth. There will also be pumpkin decorating, games, bounce house and slide, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and lots of photo opportunities.  Youngsters can enjoy a miniature Choo Choo Train to give them  a delightful campus ride as well as a miniature bucking bronco for young Texans.

In addition, vendors will be selling wonderful homemade items such as jewelry, quilts, clothing, knitted and crocheted items, candied pecans, baked goods, jams, carved items and works of art.  There will be pulsating sound of music from many corners from Mexican Folkloric dancers, School of Rock and Pop Star Performers.

Good Shepherd Church holds services Sundays at 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. and also Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
