Author Micheal Morton to speak on Forgiveness at St. Matthew's, Austin Lenten Series

“…as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

The unbelievable. The incredible. First, in 1987, an innocent man is found guilty of a crime he did not commit and witnessed by his 3-year old child. Second, a District Attorney, sworn to ensure that justice is done, hides evidence from the accused and his attorney. Twenty-five years imprisoned on a life sentence.

Michael Morton will open a Lenten series on Forgiveness. He will be speaking at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Austin, on February 25, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.

Michael’s journey is the subject of the award-winning documentary An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story, and he has released his acclaimed memoir, published by Simon & Schuster, Getting Life: An Innocent Man’s 25-Year Journey from Prison to Peace.

Additional speakers in the series include Paul Reed, Frank Cooksey, and the Rt. Rev. John McKee Sloan, Episcopal Bishop of Alabama (March 25).
