Camp Allen Celebrates 90 Years, Bishop High Retirement

Bishop HighOn May 7th, Camp Allen celebrated 90 years with an extravaganza filled with bbq, games, and a free concert from Tracy Byrd. Retiring Bishop Suffragan, the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, was honored at a luncheon where Camp Allen President George Dehan announced that the Skeet Range would be re-named the Bishop High Skeet Range. 

 

Board members, sponsors, staff members and others celebrated by exploring the history and campgrounds of Camp Allen. Participants took nature walks and trail rides, canoed and some even rode the new giant swing.

 

After an afternoon snack of hot dogs and ice cream, the day was capped off by a Tracy Byrd concert as Bishop High and Pat High reportedly two-stepped for the crowd.
