Christ the King, Atascocita Welcomes New Rector

After a 15 month search, Christ the King, Atascocita welcomed the Rev. David Nelson as their new rector.

"When I first saw your Parish Profile I was touched by your commitment to outreach, the way you treat everyone like family and the joyous spirit of this church," Nelson wrote in a letter to the congregation. "When I met with the Search Committee and vestry, this confirmed my initial feelings about Christ the King"

Nelson officially begins his duties on March 1, but the church hosted an open house for the new rector in February. Parishioners collected donated food items for the occasion and delivered over 240 goods to the local food pantry, Humble Area Assistance Ministries.

Prior to accepting this position, Nelson served as a parish priest and a campus minister in Bowling Green, Ohio. His wife, Beth Anne, is an ordained American Baptist pastor.
