Christians & Muslims in Pakistan Attend 9-11 Induction

Via Frontier News (Diocese of Peshawar) - While the world media was covering the 10th anniversary of 9/11, a unique ceremony was being held in Peshawar, Pakistan. The Diocese of Peshawar, held a gracefilled Induction and Unification Service at St. John‟s Cathedral.

 

The Rev. Titus Presler, principal of Edwardes College, Peshawar, was installed in the Holy office of the Priesthood in the Church of Pakistan. Presler, apart from being an educator, also holds various degrees in theology. It is expected that he will lead the English service at the St. John's Cathedral in Peshawar.

 

This special service was led by the Rt. Rev. Humphrey Peters, and was attended by both Muslim and Christian community members, priests of Peshawar Diocese, diocesan officers and staff, heads of institutions and faculty of Edwardes College.

 

Archdeacon S. P. Asghar presented Presler to the bishop, to be accepted and admitted as a priest in the diocese. During prayers, Presler prayed for the 9/11 victims in New York, and for the victims of the war on terror in Afghanistan and Pakistan, for the civilians who died in war and the soldiers who died while defending their respective countries.
