City ArtWorks Featured in Cathedral's Cloister Gallery

City ArtWorksCity ArtWorks 2011 Student Art Exhibition "Young Artists (Creative Thinkers)" is on display now through August 31 in Christ Church Cathedral's Cloister Art Gallery, with an opening reception on Sunday, August 7, from 4–6 p.m.

City ArtWorks engages children in exciting hands-on art experiences through accessible and affordable art education by trained educators and artists. Founded in 1982, City ArtWorks today reaches into over 50 schools and community venues across Houston, serving over 3,000 students each year.

With a new exhibit each month, the Great Hall at Christ Church is a perfect venue for artists and a treasure for Cathedral regulars. Jeanne Roth has chaired this effort since its inception and launched the careers of many painters and photographers. Each exhibit opens with a reception that brings new faces to the Christ Church campus.

The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.
