Lisa Fain, 2014 James Beard Award winner for best food blog, will begin the Texas book tour of her second cookbook, Homesick Texan’s Family Table, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 15415 N. Eldridge Parkway, Cypress, Texas. Fain is a product of the Diocese of Texas and is the daughter of the Rev. Beth Fain, rector of St. Mary's.

The event will be on Monday, June 9 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. and will include refreshments featuring recipes from her cookbook. Guests are invited to bring their own copies to be signed. A limited number of Fain's books will be available for purchase. From there, she will travel to San Antonio, Austin, and Alpine before concluding her book tour back in Houston at Blue Willow Books.

Fain takes all of her own photos for her cookbooks, creates all of the recipes, and includes delightful anecdotes of family and friends. Fain’s first cookbook, The Homesick Texan Cookbook, was an IACP Award finalist and chosen as a top ten cookbook by a variety of periodicals including the New York Times. Her second cookbook, released in April, has received excellent reviews and is featured in this week’s New York Times Review of Books as best of the summer cookbooks. Her blog, Homesick Texan, has won numerous awards.
