Eric Holloway Named New UT Missioner

Eric Holloway has been named the new University of Texas Missioner and will begin his new position on August 9. Following his ordination in 2014, Holloway served as curate at the Spanish-speaking congregation of Santa Maria Virgen in Houston until the present. A native of Toronto, Canada, Holloway graduated from Seminary of the Southwest in Austin. At Santa Maria, he led the youth group and assisted with Food Fair, providing food for the working poor in the church’s neighborhood, in addition to his regular duties.

“I’ll miss the congregation and the pupusas that our members cooked,” Holloway said, adding, “but, I’m very excited and looking forward to helping students in Austin connect with God, each other and the treasures of the Episcopal Church.”

“Eric has done remarkable work at Santa Maria and we know his skills in cross-cultural ministry and community organizing will well utilized as the missioner at UT,” said the Rev. Kai Ryan, Canon to the Ordinary. “Eric brings renewed energy and a unique vision to campus ministry at a time when the demographics in our country are shifting and we look forward to seeing our mission to students and faculty in Austin grow in unexpected and imaginative ways under his leadership.”
