Holy Apostles Plans Return to Uganda

Church of the Holy Apostles (COTHA) in Katy, is returning to Mbale, Uganda, this year to deliver medical care, medical supplies and mosquito netting. During the summer of 2009 the mission team planted a church in Uganda and by the following year, helped drill a water well for the church and surrounding villages.

“When we traveled back to the area in the fall of 2010 it was wonderful to see villagers gathering at the well’s pump, filling their containers with fresh water,” said Lee Stranathan.

During  the same trip, the team hosted a conference for 400  area women covering healthcare, childbirth and infant care and hygiene education. “We also developed the beginnings of our medical mission outreach and distributed over 2,000 treated mosquito nets,” Stranathan added.

In the summer of 2011 the team returned to expand medical efforts in two different areas. Partnering with local doctors and nurses, the team saw more than 15,000 people for medical advice and basic medications. More than 6,000 nets were distributed as well, protecting 18,000 people from malaria.  Learn more at www.holyapostles.cc.
