Houston Episcopalians Host 8th Annual Health Fair

Health FairSt. Martin's, Houston, held the 8th Annual Health Fair on August 27 at the Westland YMCA in Southwest Houston. The primary focus of the Health Fair is to help the underserved children and their families receive necessary health services and discover area health clinics to establish their own health home. Families from 23 zip codes visited the fair.

This year’s sponsors included St. Martin's, ECHOS, Episcopal Church of Epiphany, St. Luke’s United Methodist, St. Thomas Episcopal and Westland YMCA

Workers helped 231 children and adults, and they handed out 99 Intake Forms – one form per family. They also distributed 135 “goodie bags” filled with books, school supplies, a Christian music CD and a $10 Fiesta gift card.

109 volunteers worked at the fair, including 40 from St. Martin's alone.

"We had great success with all the collaborators," said Cyd Gillette, St. Martin's Director of Outreach Ministries.
