Interfaith Community To Host Galveston Blood Drive

 

Representatives of three Abrahamic faiths will host an historic blood drive on Galveston Island this Labor Day weekend, according to the Rev. Chester Makowski, vicar of St. Augustine of Hipppo.

 

Members of St. Augustine, the first African American Episcopal Church in the Diocese, along with the Galveston Islamic Center and Congregation B’nai Israel are co-hosting “in the Name of God” Blood Drive, which will take place at the Galveston Islamic Center, 921 Broadway, Galveston, on Friday, September 4 from 11-4. Donations will benefit patients at Galveston’s UTMB and Shriners Children’s Hospitals.
