Joy of Giving Market Marks Beginning of the Holiday Season

The 26th Annual Joy of Giving Market, hosted by the Episcopal Church Women of St. Martin’s (ECW), marks the beginning of holiday season with the Early Bird Shopping Night that kicks off at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18. The Market is open Wednesday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bagby Parish Hall and the Activity Center at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road at Woodway, Houston.

Tickets for the Tuesday evening event are $15 per person and can be purchased in St. Martin’s Bookstore & Gift Shoppe, located on the church campus. Admission is free during the event on Wednesday and Thursday. The Joy of Giving Market is the primary fundraiser for ECW’s outreach grants, which benefit organizations in the community who serve those in need.

“With more than more than 80 high-end merchants at the Market, shoppers can find the perfect gifts for all the special people on their Christmas list,” said Tammy Genovese Davis, Market chair. “There will be stylish clothing, one-of-a-kind accessories, jewelry, unique home décor items, and frozen entrees from the ECW Pantry, along with daily silent auctions. The wonderful thing about our Joy of Giving Market is that all proceeds benefit Outreach activities in the Houston community.”

The first Episcopal Church Women’s Market was held in St. Martin’s Activity Center with approximately 30 merchants. Some of the organizations that have benefited in the past are Bo’s Place, Boys and Girls Harbor, Casa de Esperanza, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, His Father’s Heart Ministries, House of Amos, Kids’ Meals, Mission of Yahweh, Open Door Mission, Spring Branch Family Development Center, Teen and Family Services, The Rose and many others.
