League City Church Hosts BBQ & Auction

St. Christopher Episcopal Church’s 7th Annual Community Barbecue and Auction will be October 20-22. St. Christopher is located at 2508 St. Christopher Avenue at FM 518 (across from the CCHS ball field), League City.

All proceeds from this annual outreach event go to support local services such as Bay Area Habitat for Humanity; St. Vincent House, Galveston; Krist Samaritan Center, Webster; and Interfaith Caring Ministries. Over the past six years, St. Christopher has been able to donate over $100,000.00 toward services in the Galveston Bay area.

There are plenty of activities during this 3-day event. Saturday, barbecue lunches will be available for eat-in or take-out from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  A lunch for only $8.00 will include great smoked brisket and sausage, the best barbecue sauce (donated by neighbor Red River Bar-B-Que Company & Grill), home cooked beans, homemade potato salad, and all the trimmings. Dine-in guests will enjoy lively bluegrass music provided by Southern Style, back by popular demand.  The Art Market, on the front lawn under the oak trees, will feature handcrafted items for sale by local and European artisans. The Silent Auction, showcasing wonderful donations from local businesses, opens for bidding at 10 a.m., and closes on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Join St. Christopher's Sunday in the community hall where barbecue lunches will be available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Monday, lunches will be delivered to any local business placing an advance order for 2 or more meals. After work, Monday only, the Drive-Through lane at the church will be open from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Come by and pick up dinner for your family.  You don’t even have to get out of your car.

If you or your business would like to donate an item for the silent auction or buy an advertisement on placemats which are used throughout the year, contact the church at .  The order form for lunches to be delivered and the vendor application for the Art Market are on the website, www.stchrischurch.org
