Members of St. John’s, Marlin, stepped up to help provide meals for Marlin’s at-risk children over the weekends. The program, called Food on the Run, provides food for students who have been identified by their school as needing nourishment for the weekend. St. John's provides funding and serves on the board as well as packs bags of food to be delivered at school on Fridays. Recently they packed 50 bags, enough for 25 students for two weeks and an additional 32 bags for the Boys and Girls Club to feed another 16 students for two weekends.

The Rev. Wendy Huber, vicar of St. John’s, said she expects the program to continue to grow as more students are identified. To learn more about the program, click here.

The program is similar to Shear Blessings, in which Holy Spirit, Houston, delivers food for the weekend to Shear Elementary School for more than 100 students.
