New Crib Regulations for Church Nurseries

A Clean and Healthy Nursery & Your Guide to a Safe Church Daycare.

Over the years, drop-side cribs have led to many infant injuries and deaths. That's why the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has created new standards for manufacturing, selling and reselling drop-side cribs. Any crib sold after June 28 must now meet the CPSC's new standards.

While churches are not necessarily required by law to abide by the new crib laws, all churches should consider making the change so they are not found liable for negligence if a crib injury occurs.

Read more about these changes in the free article New Federal Crib Regulations Affect Churches, Daycare Centers.

For a more detailed review of the new federal crib regulations, consult one of two training resources that were recently updated in our store. A Clean and Healthy Nursery and Your Guide to a Safe Church Daycare both include information on what your church needs to know about replacing all drop-side cribs in your nursery or daycare facility by December 2012.
