Dr. Scott Basinger

On Sunday, October 30, St. Martin’s, Houston, will focus on wellness and recovery. This annual event, which originated by celebrating the Episcopal Church’s National Alcohol Awareness Sunday, has since grown to focus on the problems of all addictions, with the goal of offering hope and healing. St. Martin’s will establish The Hope and Healing Center shortly after the new year, headed by Scott Basinger, Ph.D., a presenter at the 10:15 education hour on Oct. 30.

The 12,000 square foot Hope and Healing Center will provide a comprehensive ministry of awareness, prevention and recovery for families and individuals in all stages of life.

During the 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. worship services, the Rev. Martin J. Bastian will offer a sermon entitled “Hope and Healing.” From 10:15-11:00 a.m., all adults are invited to hear Basinger offer a lecture entitled “A Road to Hope and Healing.” Youth activities around the subject are also planned.

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church is located at 717 Sage Road at Woodway. For more information, visit www.stmartinsepiscopal.org; keyword: Hope.
