Pearland Parishioner Profiled for Breast Cancer Survival

Pearland Focus Magazine profiled St. Andrew's, Pearland, parishioner and cancer survivor Shannon Campbell as Breast Cancer Awareness month begins. Campbell, a mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 37, but she won the fight with a positive attitude and can-do spirit.

"I knew I had to be strong," Campbell told the magazine. "I knew my attitude would have a direct impact on those around me. I decided to be strong."

Shannon is St. Andrew's Children's Christian Formation Superintendent. She is one of a few Cancer survivors at the church. To raise awareness about breast cancer, St. Andrew's will be hosting a "Pink the Patch" event at their pumpkin patch this month. Also, the Rev. Jim Liberatore and the Rev. Joe O'Steen will wear pink stoles through October.
