St. Andrew's, Bryan, Holds 'Lenten Journey with Thomas Merton'

St. Andrew's, Bryan, launched  "A Lenten Journey with Thomas Merton" led by The Rev. Daryl T. Hay, on March 18, and the program is available to view on YouTube.

The four-part program focuses on Monk and writer Thomas Merton’s life, which began in France in 1915 and ended in Bangkok, Thailand in 1968. In the years in between he lived in England, New York City, and in a monastery in rural Kentucky named Our Lady of  Gethsemani.

At Gethsemani he lived as a member of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance, a Roman Catholic monastic order. For 27 years, Merton wrote on prayer, contemplation, liturgy, Zen Buddhism, life in the Church, and on peace and justice issues in the mid twentieth century, but his life and work still have meaning for us today.

The series continues March 25, April 1st and April 8th. Click here to watch it or watch below:
