St. David's Hosts Second Annual Downtown Posada

st. david's posadaOn Saturday, December 8, at 6 p.m., the community is invited to gather at St. David’s Episcopal Church to re-enact the Posada. The Posada commemorates Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem in search of shelter prior to the birth of Jesus.

 

The Second Annual St. David’s Downtown Posada will include a procession led by children, followed by adults and the Travis High School Mariachi band, The procession will make its way through St. David’s Church, ending at Edens Center. Everyone is welcome to then feast on refreshments, sing Christmas carols and join in traditional Hispanic activities such as the breaking of the piñata.

 

This family-friendly festivity is free and will begin on the Labyrinth at St. David’s, 301 East 8th Street, between Trinity and San Jacinto Streets.
