St. Mark's, Bay City Starts New Outreach Ministry

St. Mark's Bay City will serve breakfast on Friday, March 4 to needy families, starting a new outreach ministry. The church is expecting 100 people for their first breakfast, which will recur the first Friday of every month.

After remodeling their kitchen, the St. Mark's congregation began to make "ready-to-eat" meals that members can deliver to anyone that needs it.

"This isn't just here for people with no food, but for your neighbor who is recovering from surgery, a friend who you know may be going through a hard time and could just use some encouragement through a good meal," the Rev. Susan Kennard, rector, told the Bay City Tribune.

The meal features a homemade vegetable soup, corn muffins, and brownies. The food is free and comes with a blessing from St. Mark's. The congregation will continue to offer thius service in addition to the Friday breakfast.
