St. Stephen’s School Seniors Receive Accolades

Twenty-six seniors from St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, Austin, have been recognized for their performance on preliminary SAT scores by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. Among them, seven members of the Class of 2016 were named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists and 19 were honored as Commended students.

 

“Our school community is extremely proud of our National Merit Semifinalists and Commended students,” said Head of School Bob Kirkpatrick. “Their accomplishments are both impressive and varied. In addition to their significant academic achievements, they are great athletes, artists, musicians, student government leaders and mentors to others. They model the best of our school's mission to develop students with sharp minds, great and humble hearts, and strong spirits.”

 

St. Stephen’s National Merit Scholar Semifinalists include Caroline Aung, Derek Hsu, Adam Moss, Missy Mouritsen, Ryan Przybocki, Shilpa Saxena and Rae Srivastava. These talented seniors have an opportunity to compete for National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $33 million.

 

St. Stephen’s National Merit Scholar Commended students include Annabella Archacki, Shivani Arimilli, Ginny Brooks, Nick Goldreyer, Luka Green, Ryan Hanks, Helen Harman, Hannah Heydinger, Katie Leiferman, Shendo Maccow, Allison McHorse, Ali Michel, Alexander Mohn, Lia Mouton-Johnston, Natalie Ray, Tamara Shamir, Sarah Silberman, Elizabeth Sturley and Pablo Thiel. These students placed among the top 5 percent of the more than 1.5 million students who took the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
