St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal School, Nassau Bay, announced June 1 the appointment of a new school leadership team. Teresa McMillan will serve as Director of School and Candace Silcott will serve as Director of Enrichments.

McMillan and Silcott, both well-respected educators in the Clear Lake area, were selected following a national search and have deep experience in a range of disciplines and grade levels. McMillan has taught first grade through university level and describes herself as a “passionate educator.” Silcott most recently assisted in the development of Clear Lake’s WAVE gifted and talented intermediate magnet and served as its director. Both women worked at the University of Houston-Clear Lake teaching and supervising student teachers.

“I look forward to focusing on the needs of each child and want to create a dynamic learning environment for students and staff alike,” McMillan said.

“Both Teresa and Candace know our area very well and each brings countless connections and a wealth of new ideas to St. Thomas School,” said the Rev. Mike Stone, rector of St. Thomas.

“I look forward to helping our community rediscover the unique educational opportunities that St. Thomas offers,” McMillan said.
