St. Thomas Sends Two Seniors to Naval and Air Force Academies

St. Thomas the Apostle, Nassau Bay, will send off two members of their church family and youth group to service academies after their high school graduation. Nicholas Armstrong and Collin Thomet are both active members of St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church and graduates of Clear Lake High School in Clear Lake, Texas.

 

Armstrong will attend the United States Naval Academy where he will be study nuclear engineering. He has been a member of St. Thomas his entire life; active as a youth leader and as one of a select group of young people chosen to serve as a Lay Eucharistic Minister. He holds a first degree black belt, is an Eagle Scout, a cadet captain in JROTC, a National Honor Society member, and a member of various other teams and clubs.

 

Thomet will graduate in the top eight percent of his class at Clear Lake High School and will attend the United States Air Force Academy to study eerospace engineering. He hopes to become an astronaut some day. Thomet, a lifelong member of St. Thomas has also been  active in youth group activities, Vacation Bible School, mission trips and bible study. He is a lector and a Lay Eucharistic Minister, a National Honor Society and Athletic Honor Society member, a 3-year Superintendent Scholar and a varsity baseball player.

 

St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church wishes these two outstanding young men much success in their chosen careers. They have been a vital part of the church for a long time and they will be greatly missed.
