Trinity, Baytown Receives Grant From Rebuild Texas Fund

Trinity to Oversee Initiative to Help Recover and Rebuild Harvey Impacted Community

Trinity, Baytown received a $28,000 grant from the Rebuild Texas Fund to provide funds for community preparedness, emergency supplies and the installation of shower and laundry facilities at the church.

Additionally the grant will enable Trinity to increase its community partnerships for preparation with education and surveys, stock three-days of emergency and hygiene supplies, and install shower and laundry facilities for use during disaster or when housing volunteer groups. Trinity, Baytown is committed to the greater community, especially partners within the ESL, Junior High preparation camp, care giver support, and many other populations they serve.

“We are grateful for the Rebuild Texas Fund’s dedication and passion for rebuilding and revitalizing communities, including our own community of greater Baytown impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” said the Rev. Meredith H. Crigler, rector of Trinity. “Through this generous grant, we will be able to enhance our ability to serve the many populations who come through our doors seeking shelter, support, and spiritual growth.”

The Rebuild Texas Fund was launched days after Hurricane Harvey devastated Texas communities in August, 2017. A collaborative project of the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and the OneStar Foundation, the initiative is dedicated to the economic recovery of hard-hit Texas communities. Funded organizations such as Trinity, play a critical role as rebuilding continues in the community.

“We are proud to be part of a Jesus movement that serves and follows a way of love for all,” said Crigler.
