Wes Bard Named Executive Director of St. James House, Baytown

Wes Bard has been named executive director of the Episcopal retirement center, St. James House, Baytown, diocesan officials announced. Bard, formerly of Lutheran Homes of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, was chosen by the Board of Trustees of St. James House following a national search. He comes to Baytown with more than 29 years of extensive experience in a variety of senior living facilities around the country.
 

“Wes Bard’s impressive experience with faith-based facilities is a perfect fit for us as a ministry of The Episcopal Church,” offered Bishop Jeff Fisher, chair of the St. James House Board of Trustees. “With his leadership, St. James House will continue to be a welcoming place for seniors of all faiths.”

"His history of innovative thinking and resident and staff satisfaction marked him as a standout among a talented group of candidates."
 

Bard received his undergraduate degree in finance at St. Vincent College, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, and his MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  Additionally, he holds a Certification in Gerontology from the Brookdale Institute for Healthy Aging, Columbia University of New York.

St. James House opened in 1960 and is home to as many as 105 residents for long-term skilled nursing care or for short-term rehabilitation services.  Additionally, in its Alexander Hall wing, there are 40 one-and-two-bedroom apartments offering gracious independent living to seniors.
