Undaunted by many challenges, the Rev. Alejandro Montes and San Mateo Episcopal Church continue to reach out to the Latino community in Southwest Houston and Bellaire.

The other day I was riding down a street in our neighborhood on a bike next to my six-year-old son, who had just learned to ride a two-wheel “big boy bike” all by himself. Riding down the street, the two of us smiled as the wind blew past our faces.

Mark Gwin is a member of Calvary, Bastrop. He joined fellow firefighters last year to help bring a historic wildfire under control. Gwin’s family has experienced a number of changes in the last months as well as profound grace.

By gathering more than 60 signatures, St. David’s Episcopal Church has joined numerous other religious organizations across the country in support of the Safe Chemicals Act of 2011.

On May 17, St. Andrew’s, Bryan, honored 10 fifth grade students at Neal Elementary as 2012 St. Andrew’s Scholars. Through these scholarships, St. Andrew’s goal is to show Christ’s love in the community through education and outreach.
