Bishop Suffragan Leo Alard’s life and ministry were celebrated at San Mateo, Houston on Saturday, October 15 marking his death eight years ago.

They came to be blessed, so the Rev. Murray Powell placed his hands on Fifi, Jack and Dr. Who on Saturday afternoon and prayed.

Camp Allen held their annual Starry Nights event at the Junior League of Houston on October 6. More than 290 people attended the event, raising more than $37,000 for the Camp Allen summer camp scholarship fund.

In his sermon, the Rt. Rev. David Reed, bishop suffragan in the diocese of West Texas, spoke of Bishop Hines’ commitment to the poor and oppressed.

Bishop Andy Doyle has been named to the board of the Anglican Communion’s Compass Rose Society.

Over the years, drop-side cribs have led to many infant injuries and deaths.

Camp Allen has cleared an area for construction of the new Lakeside Meeting Center. The new Lakeside Meeting Center will be built next to Lake Coffield, and it will be able to host 60 people with a large screen porch overlooking the lake.

This has been a long lesson in humility and hope. That it is not a story of futility and despair, I give thanks to my family, friends, coworkers and community, who have taken a devastating event and made it inspirational.
